How to Choose a Good Colour

With so many colours to choose from how do you know what is the best colour for you?

Front Door

Your front door is the first thing that people see when they visit your home so by having it sprayed will instantly enhance your kerb appeal.

If your thinking of having your front door sprayed make sure the shade complements your own personal style and the rest of your house… a door can take an unusual colour much more easily that a whole room as its not a very big space. Using an unexpected colour adds personality to the house and can liven up a traditional exterior.

If your feeling adventurous then go for a strong, bright colour for your front door so it stands out from the crowd. If your not feeling that brave but still want a revamp then Black is always a safe bet or opt for darker shades of blue, plum or green which will definitely make a design statement.

Choosing a classic colour that will withstand the test of time is a worthwhile investment such as black or grey. Deep reds and blues are also classic front door colours.

If you have a smaller house than spray everything the same colour… door, trim, frame, windows as this instantly makes the house appear to be bigger and streamlines the look of the house, here neutral colours can work really well.

The front door trim can also be painted in a contrast colour to the front door to ensure the front door stands out from the crowd much more.

Most people keep their garage doors either white which is the most popular garage door colour or they match the front door and garage door together this only works if the door is in a classic colour and the garage is integral to the house. As garages can be quite big you don’t always want a huge coloured garage door which is going to stand out too much.

When choosing a colour it is important to look around the street as you should still choose a colour that complements the other houses on your street and doesn’t clash.

In terms of re-sale according to the Estate agents Blue is the best colour front door to sell your house…any blue range from duckegg blue, midnight, navy to teal ranks higher than any other colour followed by Green in Sage, Lichen, Royal or Olive.
